Back in the Myspace days all I had was two of my cousins, and now all of a sudden I have those same two cousin(which is fine, they are teens), My aunt (their mom), My mother, and her husband. My mother is not really contributing to the problem, in my situation anyway, considering that the only time she ever got on was when she created it. But the other two adult family members freakin facebook stalk me. On Myspace I had the freedom to post whatever I wanted, because I knew that nobody was going to be checking up on me. And dont get me wrong, its not like I have anything to hide in my statuses or whatever, but when I get into a disagreement with one of my family members it would be nice to just vent online and then forget about it. But noooo that is just impossible to do nowadays!

EXAMPLES : 1) Status Venting
I don’t know about you, but whenever I get into a disagreement with someone I like to be able to vent and sometimes that venting is done on Facebook. The other day I got into a disagreement with my step father, so i decided to vent online. I knew that he would probably see it since I know that he Facebook stalks me but I didnt really think twice about it, a part of me wanted him to see it. I said somthing along the lines of “My mother could do so much better then a man who acts like a child 24/7.” The next day I end up getting a message from him about the status. Like FTW!? As a result there is now alot of tension in my household. ; UNNECESSARY


2) Relationship Status
Back when I was with my ex, My relationship status said “married to..” now of course I’m not married for real! I’m 14 for cryin out loud. That is just something that allot of teens do when they are with somebody. Everybody knows that it’s not for real. But you better believe that when my aunt saw that and told my mother (like I said b4, she dosn’t get on FB) it was the end of the world ; UNNECESSARY. And now I cant change my status from “single” to “in a relationship” with out having an interrogation! UNNECESSARY.
Both of these things are just the 2 main elements of Facebook that are effected by having family on your friends list. There are much more like Wall Posts, Photo Uploads, Photo Comments, “Likes”, ect. Because we all know FB is NOT private at all!

So yes, this is just my two cents about having Family On Facebook. Feel free to comment with your opinion or reply with another post or anything else you might feel like doing.
